What we do

At CHAMPIONSHIP MIND, we are dedicated to helping on and off the field by providing mental performance and mindset training to athletes of all levels, including the recreational, amateur, high school, collegiate, professional, and Olympic levels of competition.

We use evidence-based Sport Psychology techniques and principles to help people of all ages achieve their performance goals. Working predominantly in sport, we also help people in areas as diverse as business, the performing arts, and the military. We accomplish this by breaking down the complex theories of performance psychology and helping clients to easily implement them into their everyday lives.

We have worked with athletes across multiple sports, using simple yet effective techniques to help athletes execute under pressure.  Our approach helps athletes develop a toolset to manage performance anxiety, focus on what matters during crucial moments, and create a clear, concise, and repeatable performance plan.

Sessions and Training

The goal of our sessions is to help an athlete improve their mindset to deal with any issues that may be impeding their performance or enjoyment of sport.

Many athletes, from amateur to professional, may at times deal with performance anxiety, internal and external pressure, loss of confidence, or difficulty managing expectations. These challenges are not always unique to sport, and can be encountered in any performance setting.

At the same time, many athletes have amazing strengths that they may not recognize.  Our sessions start with an assessment designed to identify those strengths, as well as areas for improvement.  Based on each assessment, we create an individualized training plan and get to work developing a championship mindset that is not only applicable in sport, but in many areas of life. Once we’ve addressed the immediate needs, we move on to using mental skills proactively instead of reactively, in order to position athletes to achieve their goals both now and in the future.

Common topics for sessions include motivation, attitude, goals & commitment, people skills, self-talk, mental imagery, managing anxiety, focus, emotional management, mindfulness, confidence, values, and more.

Our Philosophy

Many people believe that mental performance training is just for “elite” athletes.  This just isn’t true! Being a champion isn’t about winning championships. Rather, it is a way of choosing how to view yourself and the world around you.

Mental performance will influence every aspect of your preparation and performance, whether you are an amateur or professional. Fortunately, mental skills can be learned and implemented by anyone with a willingness to learn and a commitment to becoming the best they can be.

There’s a lot of talk right now about the importance of the mental aspect of sport, but very few athletes have a plan in place to help them with their mental game.  Motivational speeches are nice in the movies, but athletes in the arena need evidence-based systems, frameworks, and techniques to implement a championship mindset. Additionally, the skills you develop through mental training can be implemented in many other situations, and can be utilized for the rest of your life.

Our mission is to help athletes train their mind for peak performance, so that they can become a champion both in sport and life.
